Columbarium
The purpose of the Columbarium of First United Methodist Church of Greenville, Michigan is to provide a special place at the church for the inurnment of ashes of the deceased. The word “columbarium” is derived from the Latin word “Columba”, meaning “dove”, the symbol of God’s spirit and peace. This place is set aside as a fitting way for cremated bodies to be laid to rest and be surrounded by the continual praise and worship of God in whose keeping are the living and the dead.
The Columbarium niches shall be used by the following: members or former members of First United Methodist Church of Greenville, Michigan and their spouses, children, step-children, parents or step-parents and present or former members of the professional staff of First United Methodist Church of Greenville, Michigan and their spouses, children, step-children, parents or step-parents. Requests for exceptions to this policy will be referred to the Trustees who will have final authority concerning these requests.
